Ghost chats

A ghost chat is a temporary, throwaway conversation in MotherFluxer. Use it for quick, one-off generations you don't need to keep around. When you navigate away, the ghost chat is automatically deleted and never shows up in your chat history.

When to use a ghost chat

Reach for a ghost chat when the conversation itself doesn't matter, only the result does:

  • Quick experiments and "let me just try this" prompts.
  • One-off generations you'll grab and move on from.
  • Throwaway ideas you don't want cluttering your saved history.
  • Sensitive or personal prompts you'd rather not leave behind.

If you're starting real, ongoing work you'll want to return to, use a normal chat instead.

How it differs from a normal chat

A normal chat is saved automatically. It stays in your history, you can reopen it later, and it can live inside your Projects alongside the rest of your work.

A ghost chat behaves the opposite way:

  • It isn't saved. The conversation is temporary by design.
  • It disappears when you leave. Navigate away and the ghost chat is auto-deleted.
  • It stays out of your history. You won't find it later, because it was never kept.

Everything else feels the same. You chat, generate, and edit Artifacts exactly as you normally would, including Smart Edit, Direct Edit, and Snapshot.

Your conversation isn't kept, but your Artifact can be

The ghost part applies to the conversation, not to what you create.

  • The chat is gone for good. Once you navigate away, the messages can't be recovered.
  • An Artifact you produced can still be saved. Save it before you leave and it lives on in your Artifacts like any other creation, ready to edit, export, or Publish.

So if a ghost chat produces something worth keeping, save the Artifact first. Then leave the conversation behind, knowing the chat won't be stored but your work will.
